The Southern Poverty Law Center has added Turning Point USA (TPUSA) and PragerU to its notorious “hate map.”

Released Thursday, the map labels TPUSA as an “anti-government extremist group,” marking the first time the organization has appeared on the list.

Its report states:

Turning Point USA’s primary strategy is sowing and exploiting fear that white Christian supremacy is under attack by nefarious actors, including immigrants, the LGBTQ+ community and civil rights activists.

TPUSA and its spokespeople often warn their audience that their children, wives, religion, way of life and they themselves are under attack by various constructed enemies.

TPUSA exploits complicated feelings of insecurity and anxiety to manufacture rage and mobilize support to revive and maintain a white-dominated, male supremacist, Christian social order.

PragerU, a popular conservative nonprofit fthat makes educational videos from a conservative perspective, was also included in the same category.

The organization, which was originally created to file lawsuits for those who were attacked of the Ku Klux Klan, has previously smeared Moms for Liberty with the same label.

While most people recognize that the SPLC is a Democratic Party propaganda tool, many mainstream experts and commentators continue to cite their studies as a credible source of information.

Meanwhile, The Guardian notes that while the SPLC continues to smear those across the conservative movement, the number of groups they have classified as a threat has fallen because white nationalism has gone mainstream.

Their articles notes:

The SPLC’s annual Year in Hate and Extremism report, published on Thursday, said it documented 1,371 hate and extremist groups across the country in 2024, down from 1,430 groups in 2023.

The 5% drop in hate and extremist groups in 2024 can be attributed to the fact that many feel a lesser sense of urgency to organize, because their beliefs have infiltrated politics, education and society in general, according to the report.

Ultimately the SPLC isn’t fighting hate — it’s manufacturing it to stay relevant.”
