The scandals in UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s government just keep coming hard and fast.
Just a few days ago, Starmer had to sack Andrew Gwynne, a junior health minister, for messages sent in a group chat called ‘Trigger Me Timbers’.
The absurd and unacceptable messages included expressing hope for the death of a 72-year-old woman who complained about trash bin collections, as well as racist, sexist, and antisemitic comments targeting Labour MP Diane Abbott and Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner.
One imagines that the already-unpopular Prime Minister would be very careful when selecting Gwynne’s replacement, but what actually transpired was that he chose a new health minister who previously called for the end of same-sex toilets, suggested females can have penises, and also defended people identifying as llamas.
Yes, you read it right. Llamas.

“Keir Starmer has promoted Ashley Dalton after sacking Andrew Gwynne from the key role over his posts in a vile WhatsApp group. However, the PM immediately faced questions over Ms Dalton’s views, as it emerged she had defended people identifying as animals and argued for all bathrooms to be gender neutral.
During a discussion on Twitter in 2016 Ms. Dalton – who was elected as MP for West Lancashire in 2023 – insisted: ‘Trans women aren’t male. They’re women.’ She also remarked: ‘Personally I think we shouldn’t have gendered bathrooms at all’.”
“During another Twitter exchange in 2016 Ms. Dalton was asked whether people should be taken seriously if they decided they were a llama. She replied: ‘Yes. And treat you with dignity and respect’.”
Dalton served as shadow women’s minister when Labour was in the Opposition.
When Starmer’s spokesman was asked about these statements, he said that the question should be made to the Labour party.
“The PM’s spokesman had earlier reiterated Labour’s commitment to ‘modernize’ gender recognition laws, although these plans were not included in last year’s King’s Speech setting out the Government’s priorities.”
It had been previously reported that Starmer’s cabinet had shelved the plans to try to counter the polling surge of common-sense Reform UK.
